1. What do you think will be the highlight of the discussion and why should the audience attend it?

?

Anastasia Yianni, Cyprus Sotheby’s International Realty

The highlight of the discussion in my opinion will be resilience of Cyprus proposition. In my career I have witnessed several crisis and always Cyprus came out stronger than before. What is the secret? Why is it a real Phoenix and a real super star?

?

Dr. Marc-Antoine Zabbal, American University of Cyprus

The audience shall be interested in examining the impact of higher education systems on positive FDI inflows primarily by being a driver for building quality human capital, augmenting their skills and productivity, and ensuring that these institutions reduce misallocations between the market’s supply and demand. Universities and hands-on programs play a critical role in developing labour-intensive sectors where the level of education could allow technological innovation and productivity improvement. Topics related to identifying ways that will create a proportionate reliance on a variety of sectors, including education, rather than depending on one sector, i.e., tourism, to drive additional investment growth will also intrigue the attendees. Other areas shall revolve around strengthening Cyprus’ FDI attractiveness via developing attractive, diversified policies that appeal to international investors.

It would be compelling to learn about ways and evidence that ensure treating education as a serious investment, especially by measuring its impact on a country’s economic growth, and to look further into how educational assets can help Cyprus stand out from the global competition. Scrutinising some key criteria to assess the country’s investment attractiveness would also be of great interest, in addition to studying different investment scenarios in different economic environments; the type of potential risks, ideal ways to anticipate and manage these threats, opportunities to embrace, and measures to be taken.

3. Tell us a bit about what you & your company do? Who are you looking to network with?
