What makes a better hotel stay?

I think the answer to that question depends on who you ask.

Is it the lowest price?

I asked that question to a Hilton Diamond Member today. This Guy travels a ton, I would call him a Hilton Heavy Hitter!  He gave me a very me a very honest response. I’ll quote him as close as possible.

“ I will not stay at a hotel if the rates are lower than average for a given area. I have found that if the rates are to low, there tends to bring in more locals. That usually means more noise and questionable guests staying in the hotel. I don’t want to stay at a property that serves low paying customers.”

We do not discriminate or make rash judgements about people who are renting hotel rooms. However, we do watch for certain red flags. Some of those red flags would be Cash paying guests, Local Id’s or any signs of drug or substance abuse. We will not rent rooms under those circumstances. There are a number of other criteria that we consider. I often say to corporate guests looking for a rate “are you looking for the lowest price, or the best experience?” There has to be a balance.  I hope that helps as you consider future hotel stays with us.  Mike Treasure
