What Makes Anu Unique?

Grant Announcement AnuTM, a health and wellness brand specializing in advanced agriculture systems, has received a $194,197 grant from the National Science Foundation’s Technology Enhancement for Commercial Partnerships (TECP) program. This funding will support Anu in scaling the production of their 100% compostable seedpods for smart gardens, a significant step toward redefining home gardening and local produce accessibility.

What Makes Anu Unique? Founded by Purdue University alumni, Anu offers automated smart gardens that grow produce without soil, using compostable seedpods and aeroponics. Aeroponics pioneered by NASA enables Anu’s systems to grow food faster and with 90% less water than traditional methods, delivering fresh produce year-round without pesticides. Anu’s Rotary Aeroponics? system also lowers energy use, allowing users to grow fruiting plants, such as tomatoes and peppers, at a fraction of the cost.

Innovation for Sustainability CEO Scott Massey explains that Anu’s seedpods simplify traditional gardening by packaging seeds, nutrients, and growth media into a single, compostable unit. Anu aims to reduce supply chain losses, cut water use, and minimize energy costs, while its efficient design ensures local produce can be grown affordably.

Community and Industry Recognition Anu’s progress has been recognized by several awards, including the Indiana HungerTech Challenge Award, a $75,000 investment from Purdue’s Ag-Celerator Fund, and grants from Indiana’s Manufacturing Readiness program.
