There are many real estate search portals that currently exist throughout the United States. Some are franchise brands, regional search portals, and a few are national. But other than money, what really separates one search portal from the next? They all show MLS listed properties, property tax information, school rankings, home values, neighborhood information, drop down menus to select amenities and features, etc… So, when DOSS launches as a national search portal on Friday September 1st, what’s going to make it different from the other real estate search portals?
Many industry experts have been noted stating that real estate search as we know it hasn’t changed much in over a decade. For years, we have been searching for homes primarily by the same few search criteria regardless of the website: Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Price, Square Foot, and maybe by subdivision or zip code. Some portals being more popular than others might have better aesthetics or home value estimates that drive more traffic to their site. They may even have a few television commercials that pull on the heart strings of future home buyers. But, what if I told you that there is much more real estate data out there than what most real estate search portals display?
With that being said, what makes DOSS different from other real estate search portals? My answer, EVERYTHING! Of course, the obvious common denominator is the MLS Data. Outside of that, DOSS will evolve the way the world searches for a place to live. Although there are several differentiating factors, I have noted the top five(5) reasons:
#1 Advertising & Media Company VS. DOSS is a Digital Brokerage
The most popular search portals are all Advertising and Media Company’s. It’s very important to know this fact! These portals sell advertisements and placement ads to generate revenue.
DOSS is a Digital Brokerage that has a fiduciary duty to consumers and the real estate industry to provide accurate information, disclosure and transparency, and to deliver information that isn’t misleading to the general public.
#2 Other portals sell leads VS. DOSS partners with the industry
Being an Advertising & Media Company, these real estate search portals leverage MLS data to attract buyers and sellers, then sell those leads to Realtors?. But, what are actually leads? Are they selling impressions dressed up as leads? Or, are these leads really searching to buy or sell their home? Most Realtors? we've interviewed and surveyed are not happy with their online lead sources.
DOSS partners with the real estate industry. There is no upfront cost for leads. As a matter of fact, nobody can buy their way onto the DOSS platform. Leads are generated and given to experienced and full time Realtors? in exchange for an industry standard 25% referral fee when the transaction closes and funds.
#3 Traditional Home Search VS. a DOSS Home Search
As mentioned earlier, home search hasn’t changed much in over a decade. From one traditional home search site to another, buyers simply input basic information for a limited search that requires going through hundreds of properties to drill down their search.
DOSS was built on today’s technology partnered with IBM and their supercomputer Watson. Unlike Traditional Home Search Portals, by leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Image Recognition, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics DOSS is able to mobilize more real estate “BIG DATA” than any current search portal to empower users to deep dive directly into their home search three different ways #1 Voice Activated Search #2 Typed Natural Language Search, or #3 Traditional Home Search. It doesn't matter which option you choose, DOSS will provide users with an awesome spread of unique data sets that will give buyers and sellers more information to make an educated decision about the biggest purchase most people make in their lives.
#4 Other portals exploit the industry VS. DOSS is an advocate for the industry
Advertising & Media Company’s don’t have the real estate industry’s best interest in mind. At any cost, the objective is to leverage media, sell advertising placement, generate leads, and sell them to Realtors?. In other words, these portals use Realtor? data and then sell them their own leads generated from that data without a price break or nothing in exchange to benefit paying and non-paying practitioners. Lastly, these Company's will make decisions to increase their bottom line and dominance, not decision to further advance Realtors?.
Created as a response and solution to the D.A.N.G.E.R. REPORT commissioned by the National Association of Realtors?, DOSS is a real estate industry and Realtor? advocate. Yes, we leverage the MLS data, but we productively partner with industry to provide experienced and full time Agents “smart” leads, a free CRM, and other free tools and training to do three(3) things: #1 Lower cost, #2 Increase bottom line, and #3 Save time!
#5 Other portals are one dimensional VS. DOSS is a complete solution
Current real estate search portals are just search portals. They are one dimensional and lack being a complete solution for both Consumers and Realtors?. Real Estate Tech is very expensive and fragmented. The average Realtor? could easily be paying 2 to 4 different vendors in the pursuit of piecing together tech tools to successfully service their clients.
DOSS takes a holistic approach to servicing the entire user(Buyer/Seller) on behalf of the real estate industry(Realtors?) to make the process more efficient, engaging, and fun. By leveraging the best technology in the real estate industry, DOSS is able consolidate Realtor? tech tools under one superior brand and literally lower the cost for Agents by participating in our ecosystem.
The most popular search portals were created by entrepreneurs without a real estate background. It’s not to say that they can’t create a successful solution. However, the real estate industry is a complicated, massive and political dinosaur that’s ripe for change. BIG DATA in the real estate industry has been around for years! However, it’s not until recently that technology and its advancements are now able to maximize and mobilize real estate data in a way the world has never seen. DOSS: BETTER. FASTER. SMARTER.
