What is the main function of the application of HPMC in putty powder, and whether there is a chemical reaction? HPMC plays three roles in water retention, thickening and construction in putty powder.

1. Thickening: Cellulose can thicken, keep the solution uniform and consistent, and resist sagging.

2. Water retention: make the putty powder dry slowly, and assist the ash calcium to react under the action of water.

3. Construction: cellulose has a lubricating effect, which can make the putty powder have good construction.

The relationship between the viscosity and temperature of HPMC, what should be paid attention to in practical application? The viscosity of HPMC is inversely proportional to the temperature, and the viscosity increases as the temperature decreases. The viscosity of a product we usually refer to is the result of testing a 2% aqueous solution at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. In practical applications, it should be noted that in areas with large temperature differences between summer and winter, it is recommended to use products with relatively low viscosity in winter, which is more conducive to construction. Otherwise, when the temperature is low, the viscosity of cellulose will increase, and the hand feeling will be heavy when scraping.

Why is the putty powder on the exterior wall easy to lose powder?

The main components of putty powder are gray calcium and heavy calcium. Ash calcium acts as a bond during the construction process. Calcium hydroxide reacts with carbon dioxide in the air to form calcium carbonate to bond with other components. If the bond is not enough , it is easy to lose powder. Dispersible rubber powder is generally added to the putty powder for exterior walls to enhance the adhesion. The powder loss of putty powder is mainly related to the quality of ash calcium, and has little to do with HPMC. The low calcium content of gray calcium and the improper ratio of CaO and Ca(OH)2 in gray calcium will cause powder loss. If it has something to do with HPMC, then if the water retention of HPMC is poor, it will also cause powder loss
