What are the main advantages of the Stat-A-Dyne? Shoulder splint?
Lantz Medical's Stat-A-Dyne? Shoulder splint goes beyond anatomical norm to overcome soft tissue & mechanical give allowing end range of motion goals to be achieved. The design is especially advantageous for high-level athletes who need “hyper” external rotation for velocity & deceleration (throwing).
The splint offers both static and dynamic stretch capabilities resulting in clinical and insurance coverage advantages.
Primary diagnosis: Adhesive capsulitis.
There are two forms to this orthopedic condition.
Primary adhesive capsulitis - This is the classic "frozen shoulder" with no known origin of onset aka insidious. Primary adhesive capsulitis follows a three-year pattern. Year one the shoulder begins to freeze, year two the shoulder is frozen, year three the shoulder begins to thaw. Females experience this phenomenon more than males and there is suspicion of hormonal cause and effect.
Secondary adhesive capsulitis - The patient develops a frozen shoulder due to trauma and/or surgery.
Other Common Diagnoses Include:
* Pre-surgical stiffness before rotator cuff repair
* Joint Replacement
* Burns
* Shoulder Dislocation / Subluxation
* Proximal Humerus Fractures
* Clavicle Fractures
