What If Magento starts own shipping services?

Today, more then 286,941 eCommerce store are running on Magento commerce and this number increasing gradually. When I work on shipping methods integration in Magento store. Many time I have this question in my mind. Why there is not any Shipping Method from Magento it selves?

As per Tom Robertshaws research (Feb 2013 eCommerce Survey) there were 9,063 Magento stores within the Top 1 million websites. And as numbers said that If there were 51million total websites in 2013 then number of Magento website had not less then 45,065. Now according to SimilarTech survey there are 286,941 websites running on Magento. Think if at the time Magento have its own shipping service :)

What Datanyze eCommerce platform says?

According Datanyze, Magento is on second place with 8.1% of eCommerce stores. My guess, Magento will be right platform for people to start a eCommerce store. But don't think it's a reson because only the numbers above. If you know the total number of sites on the web and you will do same extrapolation. You will be able to find out why it is.?

 So, after this much of stores why magento not started its own shipping services? This is the main question in my mind. I want to know, What most of the magento legends think about it? It should be Or not?
