Who do I see, in my mirror looking at me?
It is a shadow of the person, I know I could be.
I recognise the face, yet there is a strangeness in my eyes,
Then I hear a faint whisper.
"How much longer, will you keep wearing this disguise?"
"If today you could change, where would you begin?"
"Would you stop playing a stranger, just to fit in?"
Anger brews in my heart, and I feel the heat spread.
My thoughts are now spinning.
Where is, the real me, in the life I have led?
I cry out
"Where did you go, why did you leave?"
"An identity lost, I feel my heart grieve".
Enough is enough, I must be set free
It’s time to awaken, and be, the real me.
What if, I'm rejected, not loved, once the real me is shown?
My inner being whispers.
"Don't worry, you are, not alone".
"For I am here with you, held deep, down inside".
"I heard you call out, and I’m now here, by your side".
"Today reunited, and in tune, with each other".
"One being, together, we have much to discover".
"You shall never again, be afraid of rejection".
"You are no longer that shadow, in your mirror's reflection".
"Loving yourself now, your true colours shine through.
"For you have self-partnered, with your true inner you.
"You have one life to live, now enjoy it, and just be".
"The person, you always wanted, in your mirror to see".
