How we became the most dynamic francophone cultural center in Dubai!

Our community has always been at the center of our interests, and we succeeded in bringing them together around a rich cultural & event program! Alliance Fran?aise Dubai is proud to have kept an outstanding dynamism throughout these last years.

1. Unique Francophone cultural offerings?

At Alliance Fran?aise Dubai, you can easily pick up the nuances of the rich francophone heritage through various cultural events! Lovers of music & concerts can discover the musical world in all its facets. To the delight of many, a panoply of genres (jazz, opera,? classical music…) and instruments (piano, cello, violin, sax, oud…) have made their presence in our auditorium! We also scheduled several conferences with the official tour guide Nathalie van de Vrede. An opportunity for our community to learn more about engaging themes such as Emirati culture & history, Ramadan, & Islam.?The world of cinema is not spared! Alliance Fran?aise Dubai sets a cinema program each month. A series of films carefully chosen according to age, type, and content.?

Lastly, we strive to host exclusive meetings with internationally renowned personalities to learn more about their experience: Tahar Ben Jelloun, Yasmina Khadra, Feurat Allani, Mal Bruno, Slimane Zeguidour, Marc Ferrero, Gilbert Simoe, Florence Aubenat.

2. Theme festivals & Art Exhibitions

Alliance Fran?aise Dubai organizes thrilling festivals to bring together families & their children around thematic activities. In recent years, the structure has strongly supported ecological initiatives. The team put a lot of effort & willpower into organizing the French Eco-Friendly festival to support eco-citizenship & environmental transition. Several other festivals followed, such as “Famille Folie” and the “French Eco-Friendly Festival.”?

Various artists with different cultural backgrounds illuminated our Art Gallery with creative art exhibitions: Najat Makki, Benedicte Gimonnet, IWPA, Féminin Pluriel,? Marc Ferrero, Mathilde Magnier, and more to come.?

3. Expo 2020 Dubai?

A significant turning point in the movement of the center was Expo 2020 Dubai. Not to mention our partnership with the Women’s Pavilion & France pavilions! We successfully screened notable films at the Expo, followed by a conversation to answer the questions of a curious audience. Alliance Fran?aise Dubai also celebrated the French language and the rich Francophone culture at the World Expo, highlighting an incredibly diverse culture, its vibrancy & vitality. More than 1000 visitors tasted French at the heart of 15 Francophone pavilions with the Francophonie Quiz offered by Alliance Fran?aise Dubai & Institut Fran?ais UAE.?
