What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been

CBD update: Oh what a ride this has been!!!! ????????

Being a part of the birth of an industry is not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure!!!

We are at the point where CBD is EVERYWHERE and regulations are non-existent, creating a Wild West environment. Consumers lack education (I mean, who really knows or cares about CO2 extraction methods?- but you should!! ) and everyone is trying to grab a piece of the action.

My challenge??? Educating on quality and price disparity. When consumers compare a bottle of oil that’s $50 to ours that is $150 when it APPEARS to be the same ingredients, what do you think they choose?

Keep this in mind...

“Quality isn’t expensive. It’s priceless”

Here’s the latest:

??The costs of testing for pesticides alone can run upwards of $40,000 per month for a large CBD company (which is why many companies skip this part!)

??There’s an abundance of poor-quality CBD oil manufactured by shady companies who want to cash in on the emerging market.

??For many customers, it’s challenging to get high-quality CBD oil on the first try.

??The main danger of buying CBD oil from an unknown source is poor quality hemp.

??Being a bio-accumulator, hemp absorbs chemicals from the ground, such as lead and mercury. When grown in polluted soil, hemp significantly loses quality due to the presence of these contaminants.

??In addition, companies selling cheap CBD oil often use pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers during cultivation — which you will ingest.

??Low-quality CBD oil may also come with toxic solvent residue. The solvents used in such products are typically propane and butane, both of which you will ingest and is harmful to your health.

So that’s my update, I’m always transparent. I took a big step back but expect to move forward as the industry consolidates and regulations come into play. Our "hemp for humanity" is too important to ever give up on. Quality will prevail as it always does. In the meantime, I have my seatbelt on and will continue to enjoy the ride !!
