Linktree is like a mini website. It allows you to create a personalised web page, that displays all the important links you want to share with your audience, all in one place.

You can add subscribe, video and buying links as well as call to action, survey and sign up options.

You can brand your Linktree. You can customise the background colour, add your logo and a strapline – all for free!

As part of your relationship and sales funnel it is a great tool, however, like everything, check out the added value for you personally, before you launch in and create and account. It's won't be for everyone but if you don't have a website or you have lots of offers and activities - it might prove useful.

Linktree and Instagram

Linktree works well as an addition to your Instagram bio as it helps your audience find you off instagram in multiple places - not just one at a time.

Although beware, you need to check in regularly to make sure it is working, as there have been reports of Instagram blocking Linktree links if they appear to be spam.

Linktree and Instagram Stories

Instagram Stories are a fun way to post topical content that only lasts for 24 hours.

If you have 10,000 followers or more on Instagram, you get extra functionality which allows you to add a ‘Swipe Up’ to your Stories. A Swipe Up is a link that takes the Story viewer off-platform and to the piece of content you’re talking about.

However, for those of us who do not have 10,000 followers (!!) but still have important content to link to! This is where your Linktree in bio comes in great use. You can add stickers or Gifs to your Story that say “link in bio” – it lets the viewer know that they can find your content by clicking on your profile and Linktree.

Linktree and other sites

Once you’ve created a Linktree, you can use it anywhere!

You can add it to:

• Your LinkedIn profile to link to your portfolio, previous work, email and social profiles for example..
• Your Twitter bio to guide your audience to follow you across other social platforms
• Your business card
• Posters and advertising
• Your email signature
• As a link on your Whatsapp status

Word of caution…

Linktree does interrupt your customer journey and it does cause an interrupt for your client going straight to your website, which will affect your SEO, so you need to use it judiciously and proceed with caution.

As mentioned previously, make sure it adds value to you and your audience before creating an account and adding it to your social sites etc.
