What is it like to work with me?

What is it like to work with me?

“Do I really need a coach? What do you even do?”

As a new manager, you know the role is overwhelming and I bet you feel pretty lonely right now.? While it would be great to have a boss who can directly support you, sadly that is not the experience of most managers.? Your employees can’t help you and your colleagues have got their own problems to deal with.? So, who do you turn to for support?

At some point, someone might have mentioned getting a coach - but you have no idea what that even means.

So, let’s talk about that this week!

My role as a leadership coach is to support you as you transition into your new leadership role. ?

This would include you if you were stepping into your very first management job.? And it would also include you if you are already in management but working to be promoted into a senior leader role. ?

?? Cut through the noise of your job and help you get focused on the right things.

??? Build your leadership voice and communicate with confidence.

?? Provide industry best-practices on managing teams, handling employee conflicts, and achieving your goals

Along the way, many people also:

  • Learn how to effectively say “yes” or “no” to people’s requests (and do so without offending anyone)
  • Discover who they are as a leader and what they really stand for
  • Brainstorm ideas with an experienced facilitator.

A big benefit, since I am not a part of the company, you are free to talk about whatever you need to - without risking your job. ?

And I know what you are going through - because I’ve gone through it myself.

With 18-years of experience in Human Resources and Change Management, managing teams and leading huge, $500M transformation projects, I’ve seen a lot!? I’ve worked with literally hundreds of up-and-coming leaders, setting goals with managers, and helping senior leaders and CEOs identify their most important values.

“Sure, sure, sure, this sounds fine.? But what do you actually do?”

Here is what you can expect if we decide to work together:

Initial Consultation: The first step is a casual conversation to understand your challenges and to gauge our compatibility. It’s a no-pressure setup where we explore the potential of working together.? I am not going to sell to you.? This is literally just a conversation. ?

Discovery Call: If we decide to proceed, the next step is a discovery call where we lay the foundation of our coaching relationship. We’ll discuss your current position, your goals, and the obstacles you face. This session is crucial for setting the stage for future discussions and actions.

Ongoing Sessions: Post-discovery, we engage in a series of sessions focusing first on the specific challenges you’re facing. This is a deep dive into not just the surface-level issues but exploring underlying themes that might be affecting your performance and job satisfaction.

Practical Leadership Tips: As we progress, we'll incorporate practical leadership strategies that you can apply directly to enhance your effectiveness as a leader. This is about moving beyond theory into actual things you can do on the job - including running effective meetings, handling employee conflict, setting development targets, communicating effectively (to different audiences in the organization), and what to avoid.

Future Planning: Finally, we’ll focus on your long-term career aspirations. This involves big-picture thinking where you can dream big, and I’ll support you in plotting a practical path to achieve those dreams.

Each session is about an hour long and typically held twice per month.? Most clients will sign onto a block of six to ten sessions. ?

“Do you work with people like me?”

My goal is to support leaders working primarily in professional, corporate environments leading teams of people.? Leading teams is a critical part because as a manager, you have the ability to affect the lives of many people beyond yourself.? By helping you, you can then go on and help many more people.? You are someone who wants to make a difference and I am going to help you do that.

You are also someone who is curious and open to challenging yourself.? You want to become a confident, effective, and maybe even inspiring leader - and you know that is going to take some work.

Does this sound like you?

“What comes next?”

That is up to you.? I will continue to share what I know about leading and communicating here on LinkedIn.? If any of that resonates with you, let me know!? I am here to help you.

And if you have a burning issue you can’t seem to figure out, then let’s get on a call and see if I can help you.? I will not sell to you.? It all starts with a conversation.? Click here to book a call with me.
