What It Was Like to Create My First Audiobook

I’m thrilled to be starting 2021 with a bold new endeavour, launching my first audiobook!

Here’s how it all began…Back in 2016 myself and a team of wonderful professionals launched my second book, True Fit: How to Find the Right Job by Being You. It received great reviews and many readers really enjoyed my concept around building your own infomercial. But one of my favourite things I heard was that the book was written in such a way that readers could actually “hear” me narrating it! This stuck with me for four years.

Last year, I put out over 50 episodes of my podcast, “Be You: The World Will Adjust”, and getting a taste of the audio world and getting my voice out there in a brand new way just felt right. By the end of the year I was thinking, “what is stopping me from putting that book from 2016 into an audiobook, and best of all narrating it myself?”. So I took the leap. After eight long hours in a vocal studio, I was able to reunite with my book and create something totally new that I’m so proud to share with you today.

What did I learn? I learned that you can always be humbled. I learned that stepping out of your comfort zone is easier said than done. And, I was reaffirmed that staying true to youself will always create a successful product.
