What is like being a Designer (UI/UX)
Overview
Spotify is a digital music service that gives you access to millions of songs, podcasts, and videos from artists all over the world. With a Spotify subscription, you can listen to music on your computer, phone, tablet, or in your car, and discover new music that you'll love based on your listening history and preferences. You can also create and share playlists and save songs and albums to listen to offline. Spotify is available in most countries and regions, and you can sign up for a free account or upgrade to a premium account to get additional features like offline listening and ad-free streaming.
With a large catalog of music to pick from it can be intimidating finding the right songs or podcast. This was the case for this user, which is our case of study, she is a 68 years old, retired truck driver also she is Bachelor of Music, but she found a hard time trying to adapt to the new technologies.
Problem Statement
the 68-year-old women is a user who already knows the type of music she’s looking for, but her problem is with the navigation of the app and the layout. There are also some actions she was looking to perform, but they were either not there or not easily visible.
By solving her problem, we believe we can also solve a few of the other user's challenges with the app.
User & Audience
After studying music to become an Opera singer, Regina quickly realized that she wouldn't make a living out of it. Since she also particularly enjoyed road-trips, she reinvented herself by driving cargo trucks that let her endlessly sing her heart out, while crossing the country.
Spotify having a vast selection of music to choose from is perfect for Regina to discover and enjoy. Regina has a Bachelor of Music and knows exactly what they’re looking for. She is also a little less familiar with technology, but not as comfortable as other users.
Another thing to account for is Not knowing where to initiate her search since there are many entry points in the app, scroll her entire library to find this one particular song, listen to the same content at the top of her library, have to build playlist that she will have to maintain overtime, shuffle her entire library and end up with classical mixed with soul music.

Our main point of focus when solving the UX is our users feedback. When we look at the Persona goals, wants, needs, and fear we see that a lot of it is focused on discovering music. Below is a sketch of ideas we brainstormed for the UI design.
redesign search bar to limit how much time she spends searching for it, a suggested list of music based on research history, build up a permanent library of saved song like the one she has in real life, Intuitive ways to filter her library.
Conclusion
this project gave me great insight on UX design, or user experience design, is the process of designing products, services, and digital interfaces that are easy and enjoyable to use. It involves researching, prototyping, and testing designs to understand how people interact with a product and making adjustments and improvements to create a seamless and intuitive experience. UX designers consider factors such as usability, functionality, and accessibility in their work, and strive to create products that are not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing and emotionally satisfying for the user.
