What is it like being an Asian American?

Growing up, I grappled with deep insecurities, yearning to simply fit in like everyone else.
As an Asian American, I navigated the delicate balance between embracing my cultural heritage and assimilating into mainstream American society. My parents, refugees from Vietnam, instilled traditional values alongside the pursuit of the American Dream, presenting unique challenges.
Striving to fit in, I became a chameleon, adept at adapting and asking questions, yet never feeling truly at ease within myself.
Fortunately, I crossed paths with inspiring mentors, Asian Americans in leadership roles at prestigious companies like LinkedIn and TriNet Through their example, I learned that authenticity is not a compromise – it's the cornerstone of genuine connection and success.
It's a constant struggle, feeling pressured to conform to societal norms and leadership stereotypes. Meeting influential figures like Kevin "KD" Dorsey shattered my perception.
His unwavering authenticity made me question: Who am I beyond the influence of others? What are my core values, untouched by external voices?
My journey of self-discovery, though challenging, led me to create my mastermind program. I'm passionate about helping others uncover their unique strengths hidden within their insecurities.
