What lights you up?

The question I find the most difficult to answer is “What do you do?”?I always have, even when I had a “job” I always found it so awkward.?Particularly since it’s generally the first question people ask and let’s face it, first impressions count right?

It finally came to a head the other night when my Dad couldn’t bear it any longer.?He very lovingly said, you really need to define what you do because I’ve heard you describe it before and I still don’t really know.?Actually, he said I looked awkward when I was talking about it.

So it’s been a couple of days and I’ve very dutifully been on the journey to describe what I do.?I have written and re-written it many times, each time saying things slightly differently… inherently the same thing but said differently. ?

Is it any wonder why I can’t describe it when people ask me?

However, today during my meditation, I received something else.

The truth of the matter is, I actually don’t like the question “What do you do?” ?

I don’t like being on the receiving end of this question and I don’t necessarily find this the first thing I want to know about others either.

Why is that Kirsten, don’t you care?

Actually I care very much but not about what people do, I care more about who people are??

I’d like to actively participate in changing the conversation to “Who are you?”

Who are you??What do you love??What lights you up??What saddens you?

What are your dreams, aspirations, visions for the future?

What are the fears that hold you back?

What angers you, frustrates you and how do we turn those frustrations into moving you in the direction you want to go?

How do we look at the things that are not working in your life and make them work for you?

Are we ready for such questions??Do we want to know the answers of such questions??Do we know the answers for ourselves to such questions??

Take a deep breath and relax.

How about I start…

Who am I?

I’m a connected, loving, joyful woman.

I’m passionate, driven, eccentric, versatile, resourceful, dynamic, creative, visionary, imaginative, compassionate, reflective, idealistic, curious…

Things that make me happy:

Laughing with my son, time with family and friends, deep conversations with anyone about life, love and the universe, seeing the way life works out in the most miraculous and extraordinary ways, allowing space for everything (the good, the bad, the ugly)…

Things that make me sad:

Lack of patience and tolerance for other people’s views, fighting over right and wrong, feelings of inadequacy and disappointment, perceived failures and setbacks…

What I work towards and imagine:

Everyone knowing their innate greatness, everyone loving themselves - in all their shortcomings and their amazingness, being an example of love, joy and harmony in the world, voice of inspiration for generosity and possibility available to us in every moment…

Things I fear:

A deep fear of inadequacy. ?While this used to be a silent saboteur in my life, I now recognise it for what it is.?I notice when it comes up and it has the potential to inspire me into the unknown, to just take the leap of faith and go for it - like this ??

So what do I do?

For me it’s taking who I am into all things I do, whether that be with my clients, with my family, with my friends, who I am is what I do and what I do is who I am, these things are not mutually exclusive.

Essentially, I see people in their greatness, in their genius.

I guide people to go within, feel their bodies, their hearts, their bones, their cells… you’d be surprised just how many of us are disconnected from our own bodies, inner wisdom and the present moment.

Most of us only see and feel a very diminished version of ourselves, we believe things to be true and don’t often challenge these beliefs, unless someone like me comes along and challenges them.?Yes, at times this does not make me the most likeable person in the room. ???I’m okay with it though, I don’t particularly like being challenged either, until I reflect and can see people showed me a blindspot… I’m more gracious about it now!

The most typical comments I receive from clients are:

  • They feel safe to go on the exploration and journey because they know I’ve got their back
  • They feel seen and heard in a non-judgemental space so there is no need for walls or pretence
  • I’m direct, to the point, no BS I call it how I see it and I ask the questions to elicit their own genius.
  • They feel open to a greater version of who they are and the possibilities that are available to them
  • They say I notice the little nuances that are not overly obvious to themselves or others and won’t let go until the breakthrough has occurred

I’m not here to tell anyone what to do or to know anymore than anyone else. I lead people to their own wisdom, their own answers, their own ability to tune into their own Greatest Divine Self.?

That’s who I am and that’s what I do.

I hope that has been insightful and I’d love to extend the invitation for you to share about who you are?

I love you and I hope you are enjoying the most beautiful 5 October 2022!!

Love and Gratitude ??
