What life at the Ponyhof has to do with employer branding or not

There exist many prejudices about the generation of the millennials worldwide: Many people describe the people born between 1980 and 1995 as technology-obsessed (54%), materialistic (45%) and selfish (39%). Even among the millennials themselves, these traits are most frequently mentioned. In comparison, respondents describe the generation of baby boomers (1945 to 1965) as respectful (47%), work-oriented (41%) and community-oriented (32%). This is the result of a large-scale study by the market and opinion research institute Ipsos.
Of course, there is a difference between these generations, but does it help to complain about the changes? Just recently, a CEO told me that working life is not a pony farm and complained about how much times had changed. Looking at Generation Z as a pony farm only dramatizes their distinctiveness. This is about what the new generation "demands" and why they have the right to do so: Because "the demographic factor" supposedly speaks for them.
In other words, in order to get employees in the future at all, companies must follow this logic and give in. It is obvious that such reports strengthen young people's belief in their own power.
After all, it is much more important to be an attractive employer brand as a company. And for this, it is also necessary to develop new HR concepts, to address people differently and to position oneself in relevant channels with the right messages.
By the way, there will be a workshop on "Social Recruiting" at rpc Munich at 22.11. - there are still tickets available - for free.
