What is the level of IT resilience of your company?

Disruption to production or operations has always been a problem for companies. Disruption means waste, lost opportunities and potential financial and reputational consequences. If the stoppage is then due to a cyber attack, the damage is even more serious because it can result in the loss of sensitive data and damage to production facilities.?

Think of the cost of restarting processes. This is why more and more companies are making an effort to understand what strategies, tools and techniques are available to ensure business continuity for their stakeholders. Of course, the first step is to prevent a possible attack and then to try to withstand and recover the disrupted activities as quickly as possible.?

However, it is the approach that makes the difference. How we address two key issues: cybersecurity and alignment with business strategy. To make the task easier, Accenture has created a matrix that outlines the characteristics of companies that have given more or less importance to this relationship:

• Cyber Champions: in this quadrant are the most virtuous companies, where the cyber security strategy contributes to the achievement of business objectives.?
• Business Blockers: these are the companies for which cybersecurity is prioritized over alignment with corporate strategy and this results in slower performance.
• Cyber Risk Takers: they are adept at achieving business objectives but pay less attention to alignment with cybersecurity strategy.
• The Vulnerable: these are the organizations that are most at risk because they have not fully understood the importance of cyber resilience. They may be investing in cybersecurity, but little compared to the risks they face from a potential breach.?
