What Legacy Are You Leaving Behind?

I want to thank you all.

There has been a huge outpouring of love, support, and kindness after I shared the blog about my mom passing and the impact she had on me as a businesswoman as a leader.

I thought I'd take this opportunity to share two things.

One, we have a decision as leaders to make today on the legacy we leave.

My mom left an amazing legacy for me and had a huge impact for me as a working mother, as a businesswoman, and as, as a grandma even.

But sometimes we forget in everything we're doing today and the actions we're making today is part of the legacy we're leaving behind for our clients, our team members, the company we're leading, and the roles and positions we're in.

So think for a moment and make that decision on the legacy that you're leaving behind.

What is that? And how do you show up every day that makes that impact that people want to reference.

Think of you; think of those who look up to you and look to you for your support as well as your knowledge. When we do that, we're making more of a conscious effort in our leadership.

The other thing is that I recently wrote about the importance of having a great team.

When you have a great team and life happens. Like my mom passing and I just had to step out unexpectedly. That great team steps in and your clients, your company, your leadership doesn't miss a beat.

Legacy is key number one in leadership. It's all how we lead, and it's the great teams we build that impact everything we are.
