What Leadership Ought to Be

What Leadership Ought to Be

This is a first of a series of newletters that explores the World of Effective Leadership in the World today, and why this matters to you the reader and me the writer.

News travels fast through the internet, and we are ingesting plethoras of information, about global events, which are impacting on national events, and now impacting on individual lives, and livelihoods.

Apparently we live in a world of democracy, yet we are seeing those who hold these values dear, as national leaders with global influence act out policies and directives that are impacting people all of the globe. While there are fingers being pointed at the autocrats, there seems to an emergence of democratic dictators.

There are some who are making this opportunity, and able to overcome these obstacles, through a Modern and Post-Modern approach to leadership, sustainable leadership practices, with the ability to not head for short-term symptomatic relief.

These are the long term thinkers, who are mapping out the journey line to a longer term more meaningful goals, understanding that being present with the various crisis, that intention and a hightened sense of involvement by those participating in organisational life seems the logical and common sense way of leading and being led.

Some of these leadership approaches are really well represented in this article https://mitsloan.mit.edu/ideas-made-to-matter/strategic-leadership-digital-economy

What seperates these leaders from others?

They

Articulate a powerful leadership narrative.

Build communities of leaders.?

Align their talent, leadership, and business strategies.?

Don’t just embrace inclusion and diversity — demand it.

So do we as leadership and strategy consultants and coaches in our Workshops we run by updating and reviewing with our clients and participants
