What Kind of Resumes Do Recruiters Love? My personal thoughts..Part 1

After a modest 14 years in recruitment, I'd like to share what kind of resume's I like to read. Here’s the short version of what I love in CVs:
?? Keep it simple and well-structured.
No tables (ATS won’t like them) and no chaos. A clear structure with bullet points is perfect ?. If my eyes have to work hard, your resume won’t get a second look—so help me out here, I don't want to wear glasses any time soon!
?? Match the job requirements.
If the role needs fluent German, and you’ve mastered French, that’s awesome—but not helpful here (even though I might prefer French to German ???? > ????). Apply to roles where your skills fit, and mention the required skills right at the top. Make it easy for recruiters to see!
?? Focus your “Skills†section.
Skills like “responsible†and “good communicator†are great (I’m sure your mom is proud! ????), but they won’t get you hired. Show me real, job-related skills and achievements instead. That’s what stands out, 90 % of skills I read in CVs are useless, sorry.
?? Hobbies can actually help.
Surprise! I’m one of those recruiters who reads the hobbies section. If you can connect your interests to the job, you are my favourite! For example, an accountant who loves financial summits? That’s cool. But “reading and traveling� Not so much—unless you’re traveling somewhere unique like Greenland ?? (hot topic now, eh?).
? Send it in time.
Apply fast—ideally within 24 hours of the job posting. I often get 100+ applications per role, and if yours is #99…
