What If?

I’m not going to lie. Yesterday wasn't my finest day. It started out great, I accomplished a good deal but somewhere around lunch my mind went in its own direction. By 3PM I was toast. Useless. You see I let my mind drift into the dreaded What if zone? And not just the what if past but the what if future as well. Both what if zones are dangerous each in of itself. Together, they are a mind melt.
What if this didn’t happen? - What if I didn’t do what I did? Well it did and you did. There is nothing you can do other than learn from the situation. You can’t change it. Your best bet is to take whatever lesson you need to take and move on. That’s what the past is for memories and lessons. Take them both and move forward
What if this happens? What if this doesn't happen? What if everything falls apart? What if it doesn’t?. It’s easy to get lost in this quickly. I believe in manifesting and calling good things to you. The trick to that however, is to not let our life become such an endless mountain of questions that we never enjoy what is.
One of the best quotes I’ve ever heard is “Man Plans. God Laughs” We can work towards things, we can want things and yes I believe our intentions need to be broadcast to the universe to help us get where we want to go Beyond that? We have no control.
After collapsing in a heap last night and getting a good night’s sleep, I woke refreshed Am I where I want to be ultimately? No but that’s the magic of life. It’s not the What If’s. It’s about the journey that takes you past the old What if’s and propels you towards the new What ifs. It is the NOW. It’s easy to get lost and mired with overthinking about questions that can’t be answered. It’s a trap we all fall into sometimes. Instead I need to focus on the present.
