What keeps you going?

With all the negative news going on in the world I want to share some positives. I have been managing Trackit Solutions now for 9 years and we have seen some good times and some very tough times. The last 2 years have been the hardest of all with a combination of tough economic times and general development and growth issues its been a tough journey to say the least. Many times I have questioned if I am the right person to lead the ship, do I have what it takes to continue and are all the sacrifices worth it and last week this was brought to a head.

Last week we launched our subscription, cloud based asset management solution which is the same core product we have been using and selling to our corporate customers for the past few years but developed over the last 2.5 years to be aimed at the SME space in the cloud as a pay as you go solution. I recognised that although we are starting a new chapter in the business and revenue is at its lowest, we are starting a journey into what has the potential to be something phenomenal.

I am immensely proud of my team for the grit and determination and joint belief in my/our vision and although the fate of the business has at times been on rocky ground we have all dug deep and continued no matter how hard things have been. 

I have personally sacrificed so much with time, everything I own and at times my own pride to keep things going and without the real support of any financial institution, funding (other than my own and my amazing parents) I know we wouldn't have made it to where we are today without it.

So I look at news on a daily basis and see some of the terrible times we are going through around the world and still feel very lucky that although stress is beyond limits I thought I could cope with, I am still lucky enough to have the opportunity to be in the position I am, hopefully making a difference to my staff, their families and anyone who uses our product.

I am a simple guy with a simple lifestyle, I am not looking for big wealth but to return to a life with a regular income, enjoying my work and really having our product sold and used by many people around the world.

Although I have and still work through tough economic times and have no idea what the future holds, I face each day positively with the hope that today is the day....our day will come, we just need to be patient…

I suppose what I am trying to say is although times are tough, its hard to see the positive sometimes, we just have to stop and look around and realise what we really have and what we have created and be thankful for this.,

I also have to be incredibly lucky to have found a lady to stand by my side and support me through this and put up with my crazy mood swings and late nights ranting about problems, thank you Dalila you are my rock x
