What I've Loved This Week

Once again, Friday has rolled around quickly and if there's one thing I am super grateful for this week - it's that the sun is shining, the crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils are starting to show and it looks like Spring is on its way!
Happy Days!!!
This week, to ground myself through everything I needed to do this week, my daily morning walk included an exercise in being present. Really taking in my surroundings and drinking it in.
Taking time to notice what I could see and trying to spot little details I maybe hadn't noticed before.
Watching the seagulls play in the loch and the sea.
Hearing the birds singing in the trees.
The faint aroma of the gorse bushes beginning to pull through and the bright yellow amplified by the sun's rays.
The waves lapping on the beach and back over over shingle.
I've been making this my daily practice and it's been so appreciated.
Even Ruby has been enjoying time to slow down and to enjoy the first signs of Spring. Our walks to and from school, a much gentler pace as she tells me what she's been up to.
When everything feels a little intense, it's amazing what a few minutes of gentle presence can do to create a bit of a pause; a bit of a break; even if it's just a few moments and you return to the fray.
I'm feeling ready for deep rest this weekend and also some more time to enjoy the outdoors.
I've also loved this video by Chris & Debby on YouTube which shares a little on Cognitive Distortions which is shared in such a light humorous way whilst also being really informative on the autistic experience - it's definitely helped me to understand some things I go through better.
I also re-read The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, which is one of my all-time favourite books on working on your goals and how to look out for self-sabotage to nip it in the bud.
I'm also LOVING this set on YouTube by Fernanda Pistelli that I've been dancing in the kitchen to as I make dinner, all week.
What have you loved this week?
