What I’ve learned in September to rethink processes

? Discussion: AI in BPM ? Guest on Carsten’s Corner ? cool exciting things coming up ?

Hi and welcome to the New Process Letter!

This is a really short and focused way to share with you my key learnings of the month and to inspire you to rethink processes.

So September, let’s do this. ??

Two BPM nerds discussing trending BPM topics ??

And no BPM discussion without mentioning AI. There are sooo many points to it, you could easily fill a whole episode - a whole podcast - with it.

On the one hand, AI can help make sense of large amounts of data, so it can be a great help for process mining, for example. But that is exactly what it does: It analyses statistical combinations of huge amounts of data and does not come up with the best and most sensible decision, just the statistically realistic one. ??

On the other hand, there will be the missing point of having the process of creating a process together. The human aspect is missing. Not to mention the cultural issues.

With Martin Holling I discussed this topic and many other current BPM topics in the latest episode.

If you want to listen to the whole discussion, check out episode 55 of the New Process Podcast with Martin Holling.

Guest spot on Carsten's Corner ???

I love being a guest on another podcast: a different perspective, a different setup, new input. — Getting out of my own routine. So it was really cool to be invited to Carsten's Corner. ??

So for anyone who understands German:

I talked to Dr. Carsten Behrens about my career, New Process, the podcast, and more.

Check it out here:

So, what's next?

There are a couple of really cool things coming up: a new AI-powered BPM website, a New Process Guide, and there will be an updated Pizza Game (which some of you already know about). ??

Have a great day and thanks for reading!
