What I've learned from Approaching 100 Random Strangers in London

As part of my 100 Million Lives Movement, I am approaching random strangers in order to find connection with people. Showing you that there is so much possible when you open your heart

I had an encounter with a friend that I made, and I went to him on the bus while he was heading into town to grab dinner. We ended up having pretty deep conversations, and we discussed the topic of loneliness. I concluded that when we are surrounded by people we have common things with, there, it isn't loneliness. It was a good experience, and I'm grateful that the universe has led me to meet so many interesting people.

I'm spending the day at the WeWork near the London Tower Bridge and I've met some pretty cool asking them about their businesses. I met a guy named Jonathan Matthews who shared with me how traveling the world for 6 months and realizing how much he enjoyed building businesses. Best of luck to you, my friend!

These are the ten lessons I've learned so far during my time in London

  1. Gotta make lemonade when life hands you things that don't align with your expectations
  2. I was hanging out with 20 years old from HK and I realized that age is just a number. Everyone is interesting if you allow them to be. Rex Chan So nice to meet you and it was great learning about economics and what life was like back in the HK.
  3. Go off the beaten path. It's nice to get lost. In those moments, you realize that you are never alone.
  4. I really enjoyed Burrough Market and the quality of food there. You can tell the level of love the vendors have for their products.
  5. I met the co-founders of Prograd who are Techstars 21' Marco Logiudice I interviewed him and I'm currently in the process of editing the interview and uploading it onto to social media. I was drawn to how passionate he was about disrupting the financial literacy space for the newest generation. Congrats on making the FinTech50! (UK's most innovative financial tech firms). I'll see you in NYC! When you come to visit. Have fun in Austin, TX. If you are there make sure to meet my friends Scott Ingram and Abel Lomas
  6. Shout out to Frances and Michael whose hospitality leave me a better person and makes me want to give back with kindness.
  7. You will always meet super interesting people at the airports. I've always had some of the best conversations at the airports because you are exposed to people you normally wouldn't surround yourself with.
  8. I met a taxi driver yesterday who has been doing it for 36 years, and he said his business took a huge hit when the ride-sharing apps came out. I told him about my experience driving Lyft and the types of people I've met. His curiosity inspired me.
  9. I'm so grateful to learn more about what life is like being in Israel. His experiences with how expensive things were in Miami :P lol. and how community focused people are in Tel Aviv.
  10. I learned a lot about UK and what life is like living in London. It really does remind me a lot like NYC a lot of financial services hub here and how beautiful some of the historic buildings are.
