What I've Learned After 12 Years On Twitter

Last week I got a message from Twitter telling me that I had joined the platform twelve years ago that day in April 2009. You heard that right. Twelve years.
Four thousand three hundred and 80 days ago.
That is a long time.
My first thought was how could it be possible that so much time had passed. It didn’t seem like twelve years ago that Twitter was still fresh and new and the social network to join - or as they liked to brand themselves in the early days - a microblogging platform.
My second thought was how much of those twelve years had I spent posting, retweeting, commenting, and mindlessly scrolling - which brought me to my third thought.
What did I really have to show for it?
I’ve had meaningful relationships that profoundly affected who I am and they did not last that long.
Why had I stayed in this one and what in all that time had I actually learned?
I decided to take a look back and make that the subject of this week's episode of Marketing, Mindfulness, and Martinis.
