What I've been up to
I haven't blogged in a while and thought I could use my birthday to share some of my recent adventures and news of the last 18 months.
After my days as a facilitator for entrepreneurs with Startup Essentials and Lean Startup Machine, I decided to experiment myself with different ideas and projects.
I co-founded Mediconfía with Juan Franco. This service helps doctors in Latin America finding new patients. We grew to serve the three biggest cities in Colombia and are looking to expand to more medical specialties and locations.
With Edgar Forero and the team at Toro Labs, we helped developed many apps and websites. One was GameHedge, a site to buy sport events tickets that gives you 50% refund is the home team loses badly.
We joined forces with Cesar Gutierres to run a few experiments in the connectivity/NFC/wearable space. It's still pretty much in a research phase.
We ran several brainstorming sessions with Pablo Escolano to discuss the future of food and nutrition. That made me realize I knew nothing about nutrition and challenged my self to pay more attention to the food I eat. Now for the first time, I am finally cooking! I make my breakfast, make my lunch and bring it to work and sometimes make dinner.
I have been biking and traveling whenever possible. I try to play soccer once a week. Unfortunately, I haven't had time/partners for tennis or golf.
I am happy to report that life is good in the US, my new home. And I plan to stay around here for the foreseeable future.
All in all, it's been 18 months of a lot of learning and experimentation. I am looking very much forward to exploring new ideas and meeting new friends, partners, investors, and co-workers.
