It's almost a wrap for the annual challenge in which LinkedIn members share 10 tips in 10 days.
Reflecting on Last Year's Challenge
I participated in 2018 and posted videos and text posts focusing on facilitation tips. Here is the re-cap.
Last year's challenge gave me a chance to experiment with videos. I was still a newbie and I had a LOT to learn and the challenge encouraged me to experiment.
The Results: Honestly, it did not bring me any business or any of the results that some participants in the challenge have reported. As we say in Jamaica "Puss and dawg (dog) noh ave de same luck."
Still, I am not a quitter so I decided to try again this year.
10 Tips in 10 Days 2019 Challenge - My Approach
This year I decided to experiment and try a completely different approach. I have been generating LinkedIn Publisher posts that are deep dives into each tip. In theory, Publisher posts should be effective as it's evergreen content that is easy to find from our profiles.
This experiment has given me a chance to once again see if there have been any improvements in the effectiveness and organic reach of the posts on LinkedIn's blogging platform.
The Result: Organic reach of Publisher posts is still poor and, even if members comment on and like the status updates that are generated, they rarely click through to read the posts.
For 2019, I have used my editorial calendar to generate 10 tips.
My Editorial Calendar
Since I am not a one-trick pony, in May 2019, I started using LinkedIn to showcase more than one area of pursuit. I am already beginning to see results from my TV and Film posts.
On Monday, I will be making a slight modification to where I post specific content so that, in my attempt to diversify, it doesn't look like I am all over the place. Here is the planned line-up:
Executive Oasis International Company Page
- Monday: Team Building Tips
- Thursday: Team Buiding Pitfalls
- Friday: Team Building Destinations
- Tuesday: Connecting the Dots: Stock market and economic trends
- Wednesday: Innovation...Inspiration: Eye-popping results of team innovation
- Saturday: Sizzling Hot Topics: Primarily barriers to team effectiveness.
- Sunday: Sunday Inspiration
Intermittent: Screenwriting Tips and Projects
Intermittent: Acting tips and TV and Film Content
My Stats:
At present, I have:
- 10,318 Direct Connections
Let's see if the challenge contributes to my growth
