What is ISO and who is it for?

We kept spreading the message about the advantages of ISO for businesses while we were working from home. During this time, we continued meeting our clients and guiding them through the certification process online through personalised video chats and group calls.

This experience inspired us to produce a series of short videos about ISO certification that explain everything you need to know before talking to professional consultants.

In the introductory video, I explain what ISO means, its role in the industry, the international organisation’s efforts to certify companies around the world. I also answer a few common ISO questions such as:

  • What do codes such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 stand for?
  • Which organisations can apply for ISO certification?
  • Can individuals also benefit from learning about ISO? (Yes! STEP offers training courses for professionals.)

We have helped numerous companies to obtain certification in various aspects of their business, including quality management, environmental management, and information security. As mentioned in the video, ISO aims to share knowledge about how companies can be run more effectively, and develop and issue international guidelines that achieve this goal.

One of the most significant advantages of ISO standards is their flexibility and universal applicability, which makes it possible for companies consisting of a few people to multinationals to follow the same set of principles with great success.
