What is IP66?

IP66 means that the product completely prevents the invasion of outer objects and the entry of dust. When bearing the impact of violent waves or strong water spray, the water inflow of electrical appliances shall not reach harmful effects. IP (Ingress Protection) refers to the enclosure protection grade of lamps, equipment, instruments and other equipment. Gb4208 standard specifies the meaning of the enclosure protection grade IP code of the equipment.

The meaning of IP66:

Ip6x: the product needs to be pumped under negative pressure, placed in a dust box, opened and inspected. It is dust tight and can not enter the dust. It is judged to meet the standard requirements;

Ipx6: spray water violently, spray water strongly in all directions of the shell without harmful effects, the water flow is 100L / min, and the test time is 3min;

The IP protection level system is drafted by IEC (International Electrical Communication). The equipment shall be classified according to the characteristics of dust and moisture prevention.

Outer objects, including tools and human fingers, shall not touch the live parts in the equipment to avoid electric shock. IP protection level is composed of two numbers.

The first number indicates the level of dust separation and prevention of outer objects.

The second number indicates the tightness of the equipment against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the higher the protection level. The protection levels indicated by the two marked numbers are shown in Table 1 and table 2.
