Did you know, over 20% of insurance employees are currently looking for a new role right now?
And an additional 5% will begin looking in the next month?
It’s a scary thought. But it means you need to consider what you would do if ? of your workforce left... tomorrow.
Turnover is a fact of business, so if you’re in the market for a new insurance hire, it’s important you understand what top talent are really looking for when changing roles. It makes it that much easier to tailor your recruitment campaign to entice them to apply for your position.
Our team at Ensure surveyed over 6000 insurance professionals to uncover the reasons why they aren’t happy in their current position, along with what motivates them to look for a new role and the key deciding factors for what job offer they choose to accept.
It’s no surprise that an increased salary was the number one thing candidates are looking for in a new role. Jobseekers are now in the driver’s seat, and often have multiple offers. This means they aren’t afraid to negotiate remuneration including base salary as well as bonus, commission or compensation.
In fact, over half of the insurance professionals we surveyed said they would switch jobs for a better salary.
In other words, you need to pay to compete for the best talent.
A bigger pay packet is important for employees because it doesn’t just increase their income now, but increases their earning potential in future roles. While people enjoy the benefits a bigger pay packet brings, jobseekers are also looking for extra perks that can make their on-the-job experience more enjoyable.
And personalising those perks to be highly relevant and desired by each individual makes staff more likely to stay for the long-term.
