Be sure to include an excellent reason to opt in to your email list in your front matter.
I talked about how important this was last week, and I left out one piece of information that you need: when someone uses the "Look Inside" feature on Amazon (or other retailers), they may just decide to pass on buying the book and opt in to your email list via your free gift. This is an excellent way for someone to understand, right out of the gate, you are an expert with valuable information they need!
What could the free gift be? I'm glad you asked! Here are a few suggestions:

Keep it to one simple page with one or two sentences plus the URL to join the list. Simple, easy, and it will make your readers happy and your email list grow.
