Here’s exactly what you need to know about making an effective project management status report.
What is a project status report?
A project status report summarizes what your project progress is in comparison to project plan.
There are many ways you can do this: you can put your project status report in a word document, you can put it in a PowerPoint, or even create a page on a web-based platform.
The project status report should be sent to all the stakeholders of the project – anybody who touches the project!
How often should you send a project status update?
It is typically most effective to send project status updates once a month. This allows new progress to be made so that there are enough new things that have happened, making the current status report different from the last.

Project Summary
A project summary is the first thing you need to include in your project status report.
You want to include the information that will remind people what you are doing, so this is a great place to put the scope statement.
Also include high-level milestones and give an over-arching view on what you’re doing and when it needs to get done.
