The answer to the question can be answered in reverse questioning way, what is important in building a house. Is it cement, sand, bricks, asbestos shade or water ?
Well every thing is important as each thing in the building the house contribute its own functions.
In astrology also all small small variables contribute their significance to form up a final prediction. So all house, rashi and planets in the horoscope is important in building our destiny.
There are still many many many more variables in vedic astrology which is taken into account while arriving at the final prediction.
Vedic astrology is a complex subject where there are too many variables are considered in total to sum up for a prediction.
Lets understand it with examples.
In child birth case if the 5th cuspal sublord ( as per KP vedic astrology padhatti / system ) falls in a barren sign then it give difficulties in child birth and can also deny child birth ( additional conditions are there ).

When the 2nd cuspal sublord which is house of speech falls in a mute sign then the child speaks very late and sometime the child cannot speak at all. ( additional condition are also there )
If the sublord of the 7th cuspal sublord is mercury then the native will have multiple marriage ( additional condition are also there ).
If Saturn is in the nakshatra of moon or moon is in the nakshatra of Saturn or they are in conjunction then it gives rise to punarphoo yoga which signifies pain in relationships and no job satisfaction.
So with this small examples one can understand that there are so many many variables that one need to take into considerations during making the final prediction.
It is not only the planets, rashi and the houses that only contribute to the prediction but also other parameters which equally contribute to the formation of the prediction.
THIS IS THE REASON WHY ASTROLOGY PREDICTION IS VERY DIFFICULT ASK AS ONE MISSING PARAMETER CAN CHANGE THE WHOLE GAMUT OF PREDICTIONS.
