"What if I'm pregnant?"

Have you ever had that moment where you thought you were pregnant, and it wasn't part of the plan?

?

I had a moment pretty recently in my life where I thought, "Holy Sh*t... what if I'm pregnant? What am I going to do?"

?

Let me preface this by saying for 9 years, I was on birth control. I took my birth control religiously, at the same time every single day.?

?

?And even though I was consistent about my birth control, I had these moments where I thought I was pregnant. It was always around a time when I had to take antibiotics (which can impact how effective BC works), and I was always convinced I was pregnant.

?

At that time in my life, when I was a practicing lawyer, getting pregnant was the WORST thing that could happen to my life and career.

?

Fast forward to today, I am not on birth control, I am not a practicing lawyer, and I never fear that I am pregnant. I'm at the place where if I got pregnant, I would know it was my time and my baby, and as my best friends always say to me, "We would be raising a baby together."?

?

Recently, I have been in deep surrender in my life. I told you guys I had dated someone really close to me, and it didn't work out. It was bad timing. And I don't think any amount of love or soul connection can overcome bad timing, especially for men. After that relationship had ended, weeks before my period was supposed to come, I started to spot in a way that seemed like I was having a miscarriage. I was also under an incredible amount of stress at the time.?

?

The spotting came and went after about a week of it. I took a pregnancy test at home, and it came up negative. So I sat with what was happening inside of me.

?

For one thing, I feel like my body needs to purge. It needed to purge my experience with the person I was dating. Moving him out of my body and energy. I also think it was my body's way of saying, "B*TCH, YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN!"

?

I always say in my breathwork classes that your body speaks to you. It speaks to you through all the sensations you have in a session. It also speaks to you through your health—through the aches, pains, and symptoms.?

?

When I am stressed out, my body has a lot to say. This past month, it was screaming at me.?

?

So what do we do when the body is screaming? What do we do when the body is so stressed is crying out??

?

There are so many different things, but I'll share a couple of my main go to's.?

?

  1. B*itch, You Need to Sleep - this is underrated. But this is one of the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU CAN DO FOR YOURSELF. When you are stressed, you need to get adequate sleep. I love supplements that support my sleep. Lately, I am obsessed with the sleep supplement from Cymbiotica. It helps me sleep like a baby and my sleep score on my Oura ring is always great.?
  2. B*tch You Need to Eat - I am guilty of this. We need to nourish ourselves when we are stressed, Which is often the last thing we want to do. It's the last thing I have wanted to do lately. You need to nourish your body and nourish your nervous system. Because when we don't we perpetuate the fight or flight in our bodies.?
  3. B*itch, You need to Breathe - Are you supposed that the breathwork queen is telling you to breathe? This is the thing that will help you regulate your nervous system better than anything. Short, quick, nourishing breaths. Here is a little shorty reset I put on Instagram.

I know these are simple things, but often, the most simple things are the things that will make the most impact.?

Take a deep breath, deep into the belly, hold it, and then sigh it out.
