Happy New Year 2018... New thoughts..New Year....New Life..
Thanks to all who read the thoughts and shared their views online/offline in 2017.
Attaching a summary of some of my thoughts.
1)Its fantastic to be under pressure – Why ?
2)When your best men start falling around you , the fort is breached and survival at stake then it is called “desperate battle ground “. Only two things work , Empathy and Extreme position. Empathy keeps teams united and extreme Position helps to win over enemy.

3)TEDxTianshanPark- The Paradigm Shift
4)Are you resilient? , Are your organization resilient ? Three characteristics define resilience 1. Ability and capacity to accept the reality and look at hard reality with humility 2. For individuals it is all about Finding meaning in life , and for organizations values have everlasting meanings so sticking and finding meaning in values 3. Ability of individuals and organizations to improvise in hard times.

5)Biggest mistake leaders do is to treat their soldier employee/ key shooters the same way as administering every other employee in organization. Disregarding and not empathizing the conditions under which soldiers operate leads to downfall of the organization. https://www.dhirubhai.net/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6341110032540753920
6)What Empathetic leaders do and why they are most successful to manage people and organizations. But why it's so hard to be empathetic. * It encourages leaders to understand the root cause behind poor performance. * Being empathetic allows leaders to help struggling employees improve and excel. * Empathy allows leaders to build and develop relationships with those they lead Why it's so hard * Demonstrating empathy is hard; it’s takes time and effort to demonstrate awareness & understanding. * It’s not always easy to understand why an employee thinks or feels the way they do about a situation. * It means putting others ahead of yourself which can be a challenge in today’s competitive workplace. * Many organizations are focused on achieving goals no matter what the cost to employees.

7)Research says that Employee with high self esteem are more productive. Boosting Self esteem of each and every contributor is key to a winning organization. That does not mean " every one gets medal " , but every one shall be subjected to challenge and enable them to succeed.

8)When I am meeting/talking to execs of small , midsize , large companies - it's interesting to hear the way they handle downturns in their part of business. Recalled a a very good article of HBR ( an old one though 2001) , very appropriate. A. Focus on core B. Protect loyal customers and loyal employees C. Cut costs in both good and bad times D. Invest in lighthouse projects to reap benefits when storm is over.

9)Ninety percent of executives said that they don’t meet their strategic goals because they do not implement them well. Fifty-three percent said that under delivering to its customer base leaves them open to competitors filling that void. And 59 percent report that their businesses “often struggle to bridge the gap between strategy development and its practical, day-to-day implementation.” The researchers recommend that as you plan and implement your strategy, remember that the teams responsible for planning, design and execution should also be in constant contact with one another. Additionally, it’s important to remember not to make your goals in a vacuum. You can’t just watch the market and hope that will be enough to inform these decisions. Lastly, make sure that there is a way to move quickly and efficiently if something does go wrong. “Discuss challenges openly and adjust plans as needed. Learn to reward sensible failure, or at least accept it as valuable input,” the researchers advise. “At the same time, keep an end-goal in sight, so that your organization isn’t knocked off track by overreacting to short-term developments.”

25)Courage is fuel of Hope. It is not fearlessness. Courage is less about facing defeat or even enduring defeat than it is about taking you and your organization past defeat. No commodity , no force , no source is more valuable than courage properly understood. One must understand it , possess it , cultivate it and above all , share it with those you lead.

40)I wrote this article some time back. Very glad to see companies taking this seriously. " Therefore I believe that managing the customer value over its life cycle will become the important key success factor for organizations. In order to provide improved and enhanced customer experience or customer value, companies have to move up the value chain. So if you are looking for a growth career for yourself, or trying to gain traction for your company and increase the revenue focus on delivering human experiences by moving up the value chain. If you see internal or external forces pushing you or your company to a lower value chain, to a position where it is difficult to compete......
