What I want from LinkedIn in 2023

I’m done with aimless scrolling on LinkedIn. The feed is chaotic. It is a distraction. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of good information out there to outweigh the useless however the scrolling process is a time suck. 99% of the posts are either irrelevant to me or untimely. This does not mean I am abandoning LinkedIn, it simply means I desire to interact with it differently by focusing on three primary goals.

2023 Goals for LinkedIn

  1. Direct and proactive engagement with people - Everyone has limits on their time and building relationships takes work and time. I will seek out people who are professionals in their field and invite them into a conversation.
  2. Exchange of knowledge - We learn from each other and from the different perspectives everyone brings to the table. I personally label this “idea compounding.” Sometimes the combination of what two people know leads to better solutions.
  3. Favorable introductions to potential customers - There I said it. We all need help in finding new business and there are people right now who desperately need my services but don’t know how to find me. I am committed in 2023 to asking for more introductions and to making more for others.

Here is the bottom line, the existing relationships I intend to amplify will have the premise of the three goals listed. For new relationships the same applies. Seth Godin says we are all marketers. At the same time he is adamant about the need to create trust. It has to start somewhere.

If this resonates with you let’s start by getting on the phone or video for a few minutes. My door is always open. Use this link to schedule a call. The agenda is open. https://calendly.com/bvpp1
