I’m a bit late to the game when it comes to Podcasts. I never got why everyone raved about them, but in COVID times I’ve taken to listening to plenty as I work in my home office instead of watching Netflix and TV. Out of all I’ve listened to so far, I’m enjoying Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations the most. I mean it’s Oprah, what’s not to love?
I thought I’d share with you today my Top 5 Oprah SuperSoul conversations so far in case you fancy trying them for yourself. I enjoyed each and every one for very different reasons.
Oprah & Lady Gaga
Ok, so this may seem like an odd first choice, but the topic was mental health and anyone who knows me, will know advocating for mental health awareness is top of my agenda and it’s something I talk about a lot and I’m proud to represent the best mental health organisations in the UAE. I love Gaga’s honestly and the fact she shared in candid detail her lowest moments and break downs. It showed clearly how none of us, whatever our status are exempt. Oprah and Gaga sharing funny stories about Xanex also made me laugh out loud – we’re all human!
Oprah & Michelle Obama
I mean Oprah and Michelle – what a kick ass dream duo. I loved this hour from start to finish. Michelle is just so real and refreshingly normal. From crying as she left her kids at college, to the honesty about her time as First lady and just being real – refreshing and a must listen to. I need to actually read her book now.
Oprah & Dr. Gary Chapman,
Anyone who knows me, will know I believe Dr Gary Chapman’s New York Times best-selling book ‘The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts’, is one of the best books I ever read. It literally changes every relationship we have, from our romantic ones, to our friends and co-workers. If we know how each other experience love and feel appreciated, then relationships are so much easier and fulfilling. This show featured some real-life examples too which I enjoyed. The book changed my life and it’s interesting to learn more about the man behind it. Read the book if you have not!
Oprah & Amy Schumer
Amy Schumer and her candid humour is just my cup of tea. We were both pregnant and suffering Hyperemesis at the same time and I loved her Netflix show and since then I’ve followed all she has done. She did her recording in her tracksuit, was searingly honest and I laughed so much it hurt.
Oprah and Kate Hudson
Kate is also someone I like a great deal and how she has blended her personal success with running a business too. She comes across as the girlfriend you want to have a cuppa and cake with and I enjoyed hearing about her journey a great deal and her reflections on parenting, getting relationships right and wrong and balancing a family and business.
Every week they load a new one – Happy days!
