What I learnt at my daughter's school graduation last night

Like many other parents, my yougest daughter has just finished school this week. She now faces her final exams and a life of possibilities ahead.

After a busy working day, I went to her graduation ceremony. It started with a mass officiated by a lovely and inspiring priest. The priest closed with a wish to all the young graduates to live a happy, fulfilled and content life. What a fantastic wish and goal for anyone.

The class captain in her address said she knows that from this year there will be future CEOs, Lawyers, Doctors, Teachers, Activists, Artists, Psychologists and many more great careers forged. How inspiring to hear young girls speak of their ambitions and to rightly believe that the world is there for them to conquer.

I saw young girls crying leaving their school friends of over 6 years but committing always to look out for each other throughout their lives wherever they are in the world.

I left last night refreshed and proud. Refreshed that we remember that life is a journey which we should cherish and strive to do our best at. Proud of my beautiful daughter with the world at her feet.

The Head Mistress finished her address to all with the words of Nelson Mandela.

"It always seems impossible until it is done".

Well done Paddy. Positivity is infectious and you are the very definition of the word. She has a better opportunity than most given the parental guidance she has at her disposal

Paddy the world is their Oyster. She has a great role model in you. Would I go back there? No Way. Younger people have more confidence, opportunities and challenges than we had growing up. I wish your Daughter every happiness and success in her Journey.
