What I Learnt: A Day of Musings - 2

The heart always reflects but more so during a year that turned out to be truly historic! Who could have thought our generation will experience something akin to the Bubonic plague of the 14th century or the Spanish flu of 1918? It was a tough year, one that threw not just the economy but our lives completely out of balance. It also led to many learnings for me that I published in an article earlier this month (A Day of Musings - 1). And here’s sort of a sequel to that one but in a different genre – the #HeartReflects variety! For the uninitiated, #HeartReflects is a series of my musings on Twitter.

Presenting 10 of my #HeartReflects that were borne out of emotions generated by the pandemic and the accompanying upheaval. Some I dedicated to folks who supported me when I felt down and out, others were fueled by my belief that each one of us needs to enable the other, especially in times of crisis. Some were penned out of a deeper realization of the impermanence of life and unpredictability of every single moment on this planet. Some written in moments of hope, others during my darkness.

And as I recover from this virus and its associated deep bout of weakness, which has hit me as well, presenting my top 10 favorites of this time…

It's been a tough year! If you took out the time to lift someone without any expectation, you won #HeartReflects

Several times, you accidently bump into people who know nothing about you and your journey but invest time to support you when you are sinking. Remember to let this energy flow. Pass it on to someone else who needs your glow #HeartReflects

I am here now, then gone. Don't give me a shout; nobody is here for keeps. Keep the gratitude high & expectations low. I am here, then gone forever one day #HeartReflects

When you give to enable someone else to smile, the shine reaches your own eyes. When you give to uplift someone else, the sparkle brightens up your soul. Just remember, you are never the giver #HeartReflects

I wish I could make a living simply by smelling the flowers, walking barefoot on the sand, climbing the mountain, making the snowman, feeling the soft breeze on my face, chanting my mantras, conversing with my love, learning the occult, smiling at life #HeartReflects

Seriously, just throw it out there! Whatever you wish, what you desire, just throw it to the universe to fulfil. And don't pursue, don't fret, don't give timelines. It will happen at the right time. Don't be stupid enough to believe that you can ever be the doer #HeartReflects

Life's like a game of candy crush. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, the odds are against you and you only fail. At other times, no matter how stupidly you play, things simply fall into place #HeartReflects

And there are days when you are struggling, you just want those days to end. And then there's this tiny little voice from inside which tells you to keep going, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Keep digging #HeartReflects

A tried & tested formula to attract abundance! Gratitude for the innumerable blessings we take for granted, recognition that we have far more than most people in this world do, acceptance that the difficult times bring vital lessons to be learnt #HeartReflects

And as I get more in touch with my inner self, I notice that I am also more receptive to the energies around me. Anything karmic hits me hard. And as I continue this inward journey, I pray for love, forgiveness and abundance #HeartReflects

Would love to hear your musings in response to these unprecedented times. Trust me though, the storm won’t last forever, this too shall pass. Until next time…

Very beautifully written Gunjan! Straight from the heart. For many years of my life I have followed a simple principle - Sharing is Caring! I truly believe in it and somewhere it resonates with some of your musings!
