Last week, I had the privilege of attending Southeast Dreamin' in Atlanta. The conference was a party of valuable sessions, and I'm excited to share with you what I learned:
- Across the APIs: A Roadmap to Salesforce APIs, Events and Integrations by
Steve Simpson
. This session was an excellent overview of the Integration Architect material, including some Identity Architect information.
- Fire & Forget: The Power and Limitations of Streaming API by
Daniel Soileau
. I learned that the Platform Events are batched and processed with a batch size of 2,000 events.
- Getting a lot of data into Salesforce: Migrations at Scale by
Aaron Crosman
. I learned that using a staging database is worth the effort and avoiding upserts is advisable due to performance degradation.
- Demystifying Pub/Sub API by
Gabriel Juarez
: I learned that Streaming API does not support publishing, that is where Pub/Sub API shines.
- Architectural Considerations and Strategies to Scale Multi-App/Multi-Org Environments by
John M. Daniel
. I learned that large deployments with source control don't prefer flows since flow readability and testing are difficult. A standard naming convention throughout all development pieces, including flows, is essential in these projects.
I thank the organizers, sponsors, presenters, and participants for this wonderful event.
