What I Learned at PRI
Welcome everyone, every time I sit down to write this newsletter is cause me to reflect on a variety of things. The people that have helped me, those that have inspired me. I think about my education both formal and through all those days at racetracks, watching and listening to promoter, watching, and listening to drivers and crews. I reflect on all the teams I was honored to be a part of even if it was just one time as I pitched in to do whatever it was.
Motorsports has been the longest running entity in my life, the only thing better than motorsports in my life, is my wife, and without her I could never have done everything I have done and everything I will do.
This newsletter has over 1500 subscribers and an average of 550 plus people read what I have to say about motorsports marketing. When I started this newsletter, I thought 500 subscribers would have been a great accomplishment, to all the subscribers and reader, thank you I am humbled that so many think I have something helpful to say.
The LinkedIn business page has surpassed 600 subscribers, that are seeking additional content about motorsports marketing and to all of you, thank you and I will continue to become better at placing content on this page and informing everyone involved in the process how we can all benefit as collaborative groups to create outcomes we each desire.

In this edition I am going to talk about the PRI show this past weekend. For those not directly involved with the motorsports world the PRI Show is the Performance Racing Industry tradeshow. It is the single largest collection of RACING manufactures of parts and supplies to the racing industry. It is one million feet of parts, supplies and seminars for three days.
In my lifetime I have attended the PRI approximately fifteen times. Not only is this the ultimate toy store for racers and teams, but it is also the ultimate educational opportunity, every manufacture is more than glad to tell you how to best use their product. Seminars are held throughout the three days on everything from pistons to marketing.
The education I was able to take in this past weekend was fantastic as always, from the parts we are working with on cars I am directly associated with to the sponsorship marketing education I received this weekend. From a technical standpoint the PRI show is unmatched, it does not matter what part you are using on your car to what parts you think you want to use for any part of your racing team is there to disperse information. Crew and driver uniforms, safety equipment of every aspect and every suspension part imaginable. Trailers, tools, cabinets, and the ability to place your logo anywhere within a team. I took in two hours of motorsports marketing seminars that spoke of sponsorships in the digital era and sponsorship valuation.

The newsletter is short this week as I will be expanding on the knowledge of motorsports marketing, I received this weekend in the next few editions as the amount of information was so great and so beneficial to all parties from tracks, series and teams and the drivers to the brands Motorsports Promotions reach out to.
I will leave everyone with a single thought that all parties need to realize:
Teams, tracks and series are Brand Ambassadors; Brand ambassadors are paid on the value they bring.
All teams, tracks and series need to take a real inventory of what they bring to a brand and the actual value it brings. Many have a great deal more value than they realize, others do not bring anywhere close to the value they believe they bring. Teams, tracks, and series, what are you really offering to these brands? If your answer is exposure, you are going about this wrong.
Brands need to become more aware of the value associated with motorsports marketing. Brands are just not being show the true valuation and leverage associated with motorsports marketing.
