???Numbing the pain
My first blackout at Oxford University marked the start of using alcohol as an escape from pressure and comparison.
This pattern escalated in my investment banking career in London, where intense work weeks and a lack of purpose ended in binge drinking to mute the overwhelm.
This behavior continued throughout my time at Harvard Business School and beyond, straining my relationships, health, and ability to cope with life.
However, a rock-bottom moment eight years ago prompted clarity and my decision to quit.
This story isn't unique to me—it's a reflection of how easily we can fall into harmful patterns to numb our discomfort.
