What I learned from posting in 2022
Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity. George S. Patton
There is a lot of talk and advice about the algorithm on LinkedIn but as I keep emphasizing don’t compare yourself to anyone else because they have both different audiences and different goals for their LinkedIn posts.

There are of course things you need to keep in mind when posting but most of all look at how your own performance is evolving.?To put the rubber on the road, I would like to what I have learned from posting every day in 2022.
First of all, I took a lot at the mix of my posts.?There are 2 clear conclusions:
?Secondly, looking at the winner's podium in terms of impressions/engagement, Polls still are the #1 attachment.?Even though their popularity has dropped dramatically since February they still generate more impressions and have more engagement than other posts.?Documents are the second best attachment (Dwell time) and surprisingly #3 are Articles.?I assume this has a lot to do with the Newsletter feature.
The next part of my analysis looked at the overall impression percentages.?So if a post with an image is the standard, then I would consider the average reach they get 100%.?Polls triple that amount and Article double that amount.
Interestingly enough, my posts with links perform better (contradictory to what many say) than posts with images, and that by plus 29%! While posts with video are less performant and only reach 85% of posts with an Image.?The worst performing posts were Event posts with only 35%!
Onwards to the ideal posting moment.?It is simple: Sunday wins it by a lot followed by Wednesday.?And Thursday.?The 4 other days in the week are fairly equal.

Looking at the daily average over the last 7 months, posts on Sunday score double the average.?Wednesday scores about 38% more than average while Thursday IS the average.
Conclusions:
Over the last 7 months, I have learned that:
·???????The secret is still in the mix!
·???????Posts adhere to the standards: Text – 3 to 5 hashtags – Attachment – possible tags
·???????We need to care less about beating the algo and focus on the value-add of our content
·???????Polls still work but need to be more value-add oriented
·???????Alternate Documents with Articles
·???????Do not shy away from adding a Link to your post
So what have you learned from your posts over the last 7 to 12 months?
