What I learned from my first job experience! Milestone career

What a good way to start the day.Most of us look at our first job as reminiscing your colleagues, the time the team went out for lunch, the first time you had work and starting to know accountability.

Most of us had memories of those kind, to some we consider them milestones in our young, fledgling life. It was when we first experienced some independence by earning our own money, entrusted with the adult responsibility of employment not only to our parents or teachers but to a boss and company.

One of my first jobs was working with FactSet Research Systems, Inc. It was a job I obtained thru sending applications thru Jobstreet. It was then when I started figuring out several tweaks in the computer since I didn't grew up having a personal computer.

Fortunately, one of the human resources reached out to me and I said "Finally, somebody contacted me for a job opportunity!". I was just persistent I experienced the typical fresh graduate conundrum (zero connections, zero advice from parents, 100 determination -- my only capital). I got that e-mail thru a computer shop indicating the details, time, date of the exam. So, I went there took the exam and waited after, the HR (Ms. Pam) advised me that I could be interviewed after the exam.

In my everyday life working with that company I experienced convenience that the company has offered, from the benefits up to the coffee + drinks + food. The pay is also good, I made decent coin that time and my objective is to save money then focus on my work.

Fast forward to onboarding, I joined the team of 10, 1 Team Leader managing us. The department is comprised of 4 teams so approximate 40 analyst in the Business Segments department.

My shift was 6AM in the morning 'til 3PM in the afternoon, I always arrive an hour early so I couldn't miss my shift and I came all the way to Cavite up to Mckinley Hill (45 min) travel time commute. It's back then when I always ride this jeepney like 2 times that he knows me already, it's like a personal service ride (HAHA). From Cavite another bus ride to Ayala there's a van from Petron Gas station to our office. After I write my name down to the list then continue on to sleep agai

With this habit, also guided by my manager. Everyday I am always an hour early somehow I started working at that time til my shift is finished. I rarely take lunch breaks I just work my way to lunch. Just to hit my daily goals and exceeding if needed. With Zero Lates; Zero Absences not using any leaves. With these habits I managed to win several awards such as Top in Production / Top in Quality / Top Performer.

And also managed to win the Best Team Award!

Then thankfully, I am fostering my interest in writing so I joined the Communications Committee and had a wonderful piece about my colleague who is balancing Law School and Work as Research Analyst -- it's my buddy Francis Ricasio, and also we made a promotional video for the company, This is my FactSet

If you're going to ask me if there's an offer for me to work there again, I'd accept it. I miss my batchmates, I miss the people, I miss the environment.

I am fortunate to be part of that company.
