What I learned from Mr. Atanu Dasgupta at Power Grid – Part 9

I want to take up one more lesson from Mr. Dasgupta before I take up lessons from other leaders in my life. In today’s blog, I will cover another interesting topic about being a good leader. Let us take a look at the next lesson.
Enthusiam matters more than Experience
When choosing team members for a project, what do you look at
- Experience?
- Capability?
- Expertise?
- Efficiency?
Maybe all, and maybe more, and depending upon timelines, the novelty of the project? How much value do you give to enthusiasm?
I guess I got to work on more new projects, things where I did not much experience, just on the basis of my Enthusiasm. I worked hard to prove the confidence that Mr. Dasgupta showed in me. I was not shy about asking and seeking help. I believe that I did achieve more because he believed in my enthusiasm, he fuelled my thoughts. Offcourse he never did compromise on the company objectives and used experienced team members where it was really required.
I would encourage you to recognize the enthusiasm in your team members and reward them with opportunities, give them chance to prove themselves. I am sure that you will not get disappointed.
Thank you, Mr. Dasgupta, for all the guidance and for believing in me. I have more lessons to share, but I will pick this thread up again at a later date.
Stay tuned for more lessons from other leaders in my life.
