What I learned from the Military

What I learned from the Military

"When I grow up I want to be an underwater photographer in Australia, living on a boat, with a cherry red '57 corvette parked at the pier".

How many of you remember your grade 12 high school yearbook quote? I do because it was the school's 25th anniversary (Go Gators!), and I was the editor. Instead of this grand adventure down under, my father took a posting to Germany, where I met and wed a military man from Cape Breton. I did go to post secondary for photography, but it was the military that really taught me to be a photographer. Now, 25 years, 3 kids, and several postings later, I still love photography, but my love of the ocean is more from the shore! Funny how now, for the first time I live 30 minutes from the Atlantic ocean.

Photography has been with me along every journey.

From a darkroom tech in Brandon, MB, to my own photography business just outside Edmonton, AB, I am now preparing to start over again, at our latest, and last posting, here in Halifax.

From those early days on the parade square shooting the General's inspection, to my last day job with a trade show and festivals company, focusing on my niche, and going back to my roots, Dandelion Digital will offer Event Photography for corporate and community functions. Additionally, I will offer Social Media and Photoshop services for entrepreneurs. The intent is to give you back the time and freedom for your own endeavours, by taking off your plate the part of your business you may not have the resources or expertise to do yourself.

Do you know anyone that may need that kind of freedom? Let me know. Or better yet, share this and let them know about me.
