What I learned From-Influence-Reciprocation Principle-Part2
CHAPTER-2:Reciprocation part-2
Hello Everyone,
The reciprocation chapter is a bit too long and there are many real-life examples that you can relate to your day-to-day life.
And it is important to understand how these manipulations are used to get favors or to influence your decisions.
Here is an example of people who are looking for donations for their organizations. When they approach someone for donations, people completely avoid them and don't even allow them to speak.
Later they came with a solution,
That is first approach the person you will pitch and then give that person a gift maybe a book or flower as a gift.
When the person tries to return it they would stop them saying it's a gift to them.
Then they will ask them for a small contribution
And when the person who had received a gift doesn't matter how small or how big it might be, he would be obliged to them and make a necessary donation.
The second case is politicians, in our society you would vote only for a person who is helpful to you or he had provided you some favor, right?
Not to the party, he belongs, you only know if he wins he can help you.
Third, you might have heard of Amway company right, it is their strategy.
They call it a bug.
So initially the salesperson will come to you with a kit that contains different products from their company and ask you to use them.
And it's free.
After one day or two, the salesperson will come to collect the kit and ask them about the product which they have used.
And eventually, people would buy some of the products because they have used the product and it brings a sense of obligation to them.
Or
A salesperson asks you to taste a free sample of cake, curd, or biscuit in a mall.
And in front of that smile of the salesperson who is providing you a free sample, sometimes you would buy those products even though you didn't like them.
Last one
There was a village and the mayor asked the people to do mass suicide and drink poison.
Only one person survived
Because she had not taken any favor from the mayor during her difficult time.
So every weapon of influence is powerful and can be used in both good and bad ways.
For now, I am ending and the chapter will have two more posts.
Let me know your thoughts on this.
