While training 50 tour guides in Aruba, I met a special young man, Judrick. He had a bright smile and was eager to learn. His enthusiasm was contagious, I could tell he was the type of person that would go the extra mile, and as a brand new tour guide he wanted to stand out and shine! (all amazing qualities of a great tour guide)
In order to achieve Aquila's International Tour Guide Certification, tour guides need to complete 2 parts. The first part is a written exam, (80 questions) The second part, is a video component, a simulation of "A day in the life of a tour guide" from this, we can evaluate the type of tour guide, story telling skills, presentation skills and much more. Judrick completed his video but also sent in a different video, this video was called "What I learned from the tour guide course!" I was so touched by his actions, that I asked for his permission to share his video.
It's motivated tour guides like Judrick that increase guest satisfaction and keep cruise ships coming back for more!
